Seems like ice or crystal. The sword is a collector blade. Collects victories against heroes. Only lets itself equipped by nameless (beginner) personell and only to fight heroes. The blade drastically decreases skill and luck of opponent (experience maybe). So it will become the "worst day of the best". The item works best against heroes whom are last breed of their kind.
Explanation: Why not drawing Superman into a blade? That was main idea. Partly can be seen if you managed to.

Sword of the poets given by the goddess of art. It is formed from the "inner world" and imagination of the poet. Works with light.
It works like mentioning what light does. Usually like "It lights the shadow!", or... "It is elwen, glows when orcs are near by!" or "It wipes out evil!". Certain sayings like these are common. Others depend on the intelligence of the poet. So "spells" like "Your mind glows the candle" won't work.
