Let's make a blade out of gold and fire. People would think about phoenix - again. Elwen craftmanship for the guards of Lahatarim tree. These guards wear some kind of bracelet that negates the weight effect of the items they are carrying. This goes for the blade and heir plate mail. Mithral staff are usually light. Gold is not. Would you be eager to block a sword that 8kg and flikes like an arrow towards you? Course not! And it is singlehanded
